On September 20, 2024, The British School, in partnership with Hamro LifeBank (HLB), successfully hosted a blood donation event at its premises, aiming to support local hospitals and raise awareness about the life-saving impact of blood donation.

The event garnered remarkable enthusiasm from donors and volunteers, with the support of health professionals from Nepal Mediciti Hospital and Hamro LifeBank ensuring a safe and efficient donation process. Over the day, 40 pints of blood were collected, which will contribute to saving an estimated 120 lives. We collected : A+ve 13 pints, B+ve 3 pints, O+ve 12 pints, AB+ve 7 pints, A-ve 1 pints, B-ve 1 pints, O-ve 2 and AB- 1pints.

One of the most inspiring aspects of the event was the unprecedented participation of female donors. 70% of the donors were women, which is an extraordinary shift from the usual male-dominated turnout at similar events. This surge in female participation was both encouraging and a testament to the growing awareness and willingness of women to contribute to life-saving causes.

The event concluded with a heartfelt thank you from the organizers to all blood donors, participants and volunteers, emphasizing the power of collective action in supporting public health efforts. It was a successful day dedicated to saving lives and fostering a spirit of giving within the local community. We extend our special appreciation to The British School (TBS) for organizing the smart blood donation event. Your selflessness is saving lives and making our live saving mission possible.
